What should I put in my portfolio for art uni?
I was wondering what kind of stuff look plain in the portfolios of art, whatever is impressive and what is not? I heard that if you joined another portfolio of your choice. I'm studying Fine Arts and Textiles AS Level month, but not too sure which career to pursue. Should I include a variety of things colleges could be expected, or simply draw all I want? Thus, advice on how to make a lasting impression or just in general? Thank you!
This is based on what told me to my core courses. You need about 10 life drawings and about 10 other drawings of observation, some drawing ability is regarded as the basis for all art courses. Your work, then refer to some coherent theme, so you put in about 20 pieces in about your special study, other artists' work, the last room, study, etc., they need not be large. A couple of books sketches or so, and all you have done tests on the history of art, a writing dissertaion is mandatory for most degrees in art and account for about 10% of the points they need to see, you'll be able to do so. It was not your way or not, they usually judge the quality work and your commitment, any work you've done outside they consider on the merits, but they are essentially looking for who can fulfill their work requirements and pass the course, the creativity to mega if you can not meet the basic requirements is considered as a no-no, if by your side job you will fail their course, if you know what I mean. This is just my experience, which can be updated I went to art college in the 90s, but do not be afraid to talk to your teachers for the best advice from them. They generally want people on headwaters because he is the best for the reputation of the colleges they teach least if you listen, they will give you the best advice in the end. Best of luck.
