I was looking through some children's books yesterday and saw some beautiful illustrations for the Fairies series. A spin off of Tinkerbell and not Disneyesque at all. Well, maybe a little like vintage Pooh. I thought about what a magical room that would make. I guess that might be better for a girl, but not frou frou.

For a boy you could do the Peter pan thing with the lost boys and Capt Hook. Or maybe a Pirate room. Again in Books-a-million they have this large pirate ship you could tie the room around , if your adventurous.

Also, you might consider bold color and patterns ---blacks, whites and reds. Studies show that babies really respond to that in the early stages of their development. You could do like a harlequin pattern and have court jesters and a throne for your little prince or princess.
