Can anyone tell what movie this is. It's about a long hair boy growing up in suburbs in the 60's or 70's. .?
It's about a long hair boy growing up in the suburbs in the 60's or 70's. He hangs out at a Rec center with his friends that do a lot of drugs. They even do drugs at school. He is friends with one guy who drive a jeep like vehicle, If i remember correctly i think they kill someone with a revolver, and I think that friend of his dies later from being shot in the back. Also the boy went to a party and got the snot beaten out of him boy a bunch of other boys. He also falls in love with this really hot girl. It's been a really long time since i seen this movie, if I'm not mistaken I think i saw it once on Sundance or IFC. I would really appreciate it if someone told me what movie this is. i never got to finish it.

IMDb synopsis:
New Grenada is a planned community set in the desert where there is nothing for the kids to do, save for a rec center - which closes at 6 PM. The parents, in their zeal to attract industry to their town, have all but neglected their children. As a result, the kids begin to create their own entertainment, which involves vandalism, theft, and general hooliganism. During an incident when one of the kids brandishes an unloaded gun at town cop Ed Doberman, he is shot and killed. When the parents gather the next night to discuss the killing and the level of lawlessness among the youth, they soon find out that their kids have had all they can take.
