If so there are medical fields from direct interaction with patients to technical areas in radiology or even orthopedic technicians that design items to assist people with disabilities to function better in their daily life.

Maybe you would rather teach at a university or do research into archeology?

You need to consider what will best fit with your interests and if it is more important for you to call yourself a scientist or if you get satisfaction in any particular field that works with science even if you do not need the title.

I do have 2x PhD and worked in law enforcement for years. I would never call myself a scientist but I learned to use scientific methods to get evidence. Behavioral sciences is also something I find interesting and use to get a better understanding of people in order to sort through statements from witnesses. A persons perspective and experiences will cause them to interpret things differently than another who has also been a witness but has a different background. I do not refer to simple cases such as traffic accidents, those are basically statements of 'I saw this'. I refer to finding why something was done and getting inside the persons head in order to recreate what happened and find why/how whatever is being investigated occurred and proceed from there. Here it helps if you can put yourself into the other persons mind by the evidence at hand. This also applies when you are dealing with religious beliefs and other security issues, even for doing background research when access and particular security clearance checks. I now deal with the government and military in ways that go beyond what is normally considered by the standard scientific community. I deal with military members and their families, civilian and family members and even with people who do not have any official direct connection with the military but interact with the aforementioned. Much of which is collection and assessment of information in order to puzzle together profiles and dossiers. I do a lot of interviews, go to investigate places where incidents occurred and have also conducted hypnosis sessions when appropriate. I do use methods whatever methods I may feel appropriate to include some that are experimental along with traditional investigative methods. Basically I am given free reign of how I go about my collection of data because normal methods either cannot be applied or produce no useful information. One area where this is predominant is when dealing with claims of a paranormal nature. It must be understood that when dealing with persons who live with and face extreme circumstances in their life (military duty in today's society) it is not uncommon for such claims. Note: my position does not officially exist and will be denied.

Look to what fits your personality and interests in order to find what area you will succeed in and then if possible observe someone who does work in this area. This can be on a school vacation and when you show interest professionals are often happy to share their knowledge to a potential protege.
