Pinscher Dog

Dobes have a reputation for being once-only dogs - the first time they are hit by a club or a bullet is the last time they are interested in attacking a human. Call it cowardice, call it intelligence - doesn't matter; either way it is the end of a LOT of expensive training time and means that that police squad is suddenly short on its quota of PDs, making the others work even harder. And they've had that reputation for at least 40 of the years that I've been "in dogs".

[Curtis M] is probably right re the relative size of BSDs vs GSDs in HIS country (where the breeders & handlers & judges simply pay no attention to anything called a Standard), but the fact is that the 2 breeds are MEANT to be almost identical in size, with BSD bitches actually being allowed to be 1cm BIGGER than are GSD bitches, and in both sexes small GSDs are allowed to be _smaller_ than are small BSDs. For those too lazy to look at those files: Using the GSD limits for KKl.II/BS.Cl.2, the official breed limits are:
Bitches:
BSDs: 56-62 cm; 20-25 kg
GSDs: 54-61 cm; 22-32 kg. (21½-24 inches; 48½-70½ lbs)

Dogs:
BSDs: 60-66 cm; 24-30 kg
GSDs: 59-66 cm; 30-40 kg. (23½to 26 inches; 66-88 lbs)

As the BSDs are required to be lighter in weight than the GSDs of equivalent height, most of that 25% difference in weight-for-height can only come from the BSD being shallower & narrower in body, and having finer bones plus leaner muscles - the slightly shorter body helps, but not by 25%.
(Which leads me to wonder whether statistics will show that BSDs are easier to disable than are GSDs.)
And I think that the extra heart-&-lung room of a GSD will more than compensate for the extra weight & heat (as a long distance runner myself in my long-ago youth, heat never bothered me - but being aerial top-dressed while running up a steep hill sure did!), when it comes to endurance - but no, I'm not including the abominations with their hock on the ground every time that paw is in front of the hip, and their rear knee lower than its heel. The AKC & GSDCAmerica & CKC & GSDCC call them GSDs, but I don't.

Lord only knows where [קuгקlΣ] gets the idea that GSDs lack independence!
He's obviously never been to the Catskills where one of my pen-friends leaves her GSDs in charge of the flock for a whole day at a time while she does other farm work, and where one stopped the bulldozer whose driver had permission to cross that day's patrol line, but the dog didn't know that until the owner arrived some time later.
He's obviously never read any of the tales about GSD guide dogs that pushed the owners away from an open lift shaft, or the GSD that decided that, rather than go up office building 1 where the blind owner was delivering magazines then come down again and go up office building 2 delivering then come down again, it would cross on the high-level access-way between the two blocks and lead its owner in the reverse direction to get block 2's magazines delivered. The blind owner thought nothing of it until an office-worker had kittens at seeing GSD & owner crossing between the buildings!
Yet, after seeing my message, [קuгקlΣ] still thinks GSDs lack creativity?? That behaviour was NOT taught.
