Are home made Suppressors (silencers) against the law?
I was on a different web site that had instructions on how to make a paint ball gun suppressor ( silencer, I know that all it does is suppress the sound) and there was quite the debate as to the legality of home made suppressors and the application of them on Paintball guns. The reasoning went like this it is a silencer you can't have it even if it made out of PVC and is made for a paint ball maker. You can if you have the tax stamp but that is it.
I know that this deals with paint ball but the argument is over the need for the class 3 tax stamp that is required for firearms.
If you would like to make one, the best thing to do is to contact the BATF in writing. I dont know the legality of what you are asking, but even if someone says its its fine, ask the BATF anyway. They are the authority on this issue...
The above was not aimed at Glacierwolf btw. And most AK style rifles have 14mm LH threads...
