Using speakers with my laptop, but can i use a old ear-phone set?
Hi, i have two speakers which im thinking of trying to hook up to my lap top. The ends of the speaker cables are just bare wires. The connection for my laptop is a mini-phono, say a set of walkman ear-phones.
Would it be possible to use an old set of headphones, cut of the earpieces off and then wire the speakers onto the headfone mini phono. Then just plug this straight into my laptop?????
Yes! The connectivity is correct. The only concern is that the wire used for headphones is very small and may not be big enough to carry the power to your speakers. Speakers draw much more power then headphones. Use as little of the small wire and as much of the bigger speaker wire as you can.
