What breed of dog gets a long well with an English Cocker Spaniel puppy?

I have a cocker spaniel puppy and I want to get another dog. Is there a breed that matches a cocker's temperment and attitude better than others?

Although breeds tend to follow temperament patterns, you can only generalise. It's the individual dog, not the breed thats important and if socialised properly, dogs of any breed
should get on. Espcially as it's the 2nd dog, any breed will probably be OK because your cocker will already be higher in the pecking order. I would think more about what size and sex you want and choose a breed according to that. As you already have a cocker, why not get another working breed like another spaniel, retriever or a hound (like a Beagle)? They are all typically known to be friendly and hounds especially thrive with other dogs as they are bred for living in packs (more so than other groups).
