Eight months of Newfoundland tries to use his weight or his big foot on our cats?
Our Newf eight months had cats around him from birth but it seems always wanting to kill our cats. He goes and tries to run either on them or on their patch with one of his big feet. I recently watched it trying to ride on a fly buzzing around too! He also tried on small dogs and I am really worried about it. It is a wonderful dog and a valuable member of our family. Is this something Newf?
It is a puppy. They do such things. They are not mature, either mentally or physically until 3 + years. They do not know their size, and thus can injure small animals and children because of it. Do not let him do to the cat. Give him a correction and he knows it is not acceptable. I have 4 cats and 13 Newfs, and any behavior like that is not tolerated !!!!!
