Is there a free on-line catalog that shows all the types and colors of iris?
I am looking for a picture guide for all the different kinds of iris. I am part of a group that trying to grow all of them as of 2006. We have about 125 different kinds and colors. We need (blank) many more.
these guys say there are 200 varieties;

this page just says "hundreds":

these guys say there are thousands of cultivars:

maybe these guys will know>>but maybe you are familiar with them? because you said free and they want $10 USD a year to access their complete database. it looks from their literature that the truth is that the number of iris varieties is growing at a rapid rate; they have a page for registering your own special cultivar, as do some other sites:
american iris society
http://www.irises.org/index.htm
and another species identification database with a registration option, they list 245 species:

the British Iris Society supposedly does seed exchanges but I didn't see a link, only one for plant sales, $2.50 euro plus shipping:

and these guys have a big list of tall bearded cultivars and a link page to more iris pages:

but wouldn't you know it >> the best turned up last >>

peace up, flower grower~!
